There is a verse in the Bible that says: ____ never fails. Can you complete it? And what do you think it means? *

rodney5 14.07.08 - 08:43pm
Charity never faileth.1Cor13 i think verse 7or8. Treat one with GODLY love and respect and you win a Soul for GOD. *

gbopp 15.07.08 - 03:28am
God Bless you more rodney, victory.GIF *

1Corinth13:8
Love never fails. But whether there are prophecies, they will fail, whether there are tongues, they will cease; whether there is knowledge, it will vanish.
If we go to 1Thess.5:19,20
''Do not quench the Spirit.''

*''Do not despise prophecy.'' *

gbopp 15.07.08 - 02:56pm
To the Corinthians Paul explains the absolute necessity of LOVE, defines the essence of LOVE, of its characteristics and contrasts the eternal qualities of LOVE with the temporal qualities of gifts. Gifts in contrast to LOVE, are partial, not complete, they are temporal, not eternal, they communicate imperfect rather than perfect knowledge. Everything in this age compared to the perfection of the new creation is at a child-like stage, including all gifts. Rather than suggesting the demise of gifts during this age or at some early point in Church history, this passage proves just the opposite. *

joe.sa 16.07.08 - 11:34am
Cool.
Next question: will earth eventually be destroyed? And will something else come in it's place? And if so - what will it look like? *

endtimes 18.07.08 - 06:43am
Earth as we know it will be destroyed, the Bible talks about a new heaven and earth, earth will be like garden of Eden, a paradise, no wars, sickness and evil. Animals and humans will live in harmony, the lion and lamb will lie next to each other, the baby will be save at a snake hole *

rodney5 18.07.08 - 07:43am
Endtimes i cant wait for that. What bothers me is who will do the work on this new earth. It is explained that we will only have joy on the new earth. The liom and lamb will eat grass together. *

endtimes 19.07.08 - 06:03am
Work i think will cease, we will enjoy God's provision in abundance, just like be4 the fall sheep.GIF *

joe.sa 19.07.08 - 11:03am
THAT excites me!Dancecat.GIF *

rodney5 19.07.08 - 09:22pm
How can work cease? If we eat as the lamb and lion will we will need sewage works. Who will operate this. Or will this dissapear like magic? *

joe.sa 21.07.08 - 10:03am
Maybe work won't be toil. Like Adam naming the animals. In any case we don't know now, exactly how it's going to work. But we know it's going to be bliss. *

joe.sa 21.07.08 - 10:19am
Next question: will moaning and groaning towards God bring His hand into action, or is there another way of praying that moves Him? *

rodney5 21.07.08 - 10:37am
When my children moan and groan i am deaf. When they come 2 me and say daddy please i listen. *

seastarr 22.07.08 - 10:34pm
If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and then turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land. 2 Chron 7:14 then Ps. 145:18 tells us: The Lord is nigh unto all them that call upon him, to all that call upon him in truth.

1 Tim. 2:8 says: I will therefore that men pray everywhere, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting. *

endtimes 23.07.08 - 05:37am
Faith moves God to act, the bible says ask and it will be given to you. Instead of moaning and groaning, here is my list of what i think:
praying in faith, believe that you already have received
Remind God of His promises in His Word
Give thanks to God, even in your darkest trial, praise Him
Speak to your mountain- (spiritual warfare)
use sword of spirit - Word of God and declare victory not defeat.
God hears the prayer of the righteous. *

birdie77 23.07.08 - 07:36pm
We must pray in faith and God will answer our prayers in His time. *

joe.sa 25.07.08 - 02:13pm
Yes - faith is the thing. *

joe.sa 29.07.08 - 11:20am
Is fear a good motivator? As in - will being fearfull of God, motivate us to live for Him. Or is there something better? *

endtimes 29.07.08 - 06:02pm
The love for God is a better motivater, then we want to serve God because we love Him, we dont want to sin because we love God so much that we dont want to hurt and disappoint God by committing sin. *

seastarr 30.07.08 - 01:48am
Amen. I agree.GIF love is the motivation to wanting to serve God love2.GIF *

joe.sa 30.07.08 - 12:04pm
Cool. I don't think fear will ever go all the way. *

rodney05 30.07.08 - 09:03pm
I fear to dissapoint GOD. *

agape777 31.07.08 - 04:14am
Fear can have several meanings. We can fear God in Reverence, that is to LOVE GOD
Another way to fear God is to be terrified of Him. This scenario cannot apply because
GOD IS LOVE
Psalm89:7
God is greatly to be feared in the assembly of the saints,
And to be held in Reverence by all those around Him.
*

agape777 31.07.08 - 04:45am
Fear can also mean being terrified of another person.
1 Peter3:13-15
And who is he who will harm you if you become followers of what
is good.
14.But even if you should suffer for righteousness' sake, you are blessed.
''And do not be afraid of their hearts, nor be troubled.
15.But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts, and always be ready to give a defence to everyone who asks you a reason for the hope that is in you, with meekness and fear. *

joe.sa 31.07.08 - 11:21am
Maybe one can say that that fear of the Lord is more like respect. *

joe.sa 31.07.08 - 11:24am
Another question: if you love someone,do you then do what pleases them? (I'm talking about a normal relationship, where there's no abnormal psycology going on) *

joe.sa 2.08.08 - 01:03pm
Im thinking here more specifically in terms of God. *

endtimes 4.08.08 - 05:43am
Yes joe.sa, i think you do *

joe.sa 4.08.08 - 10:46am
So can we then say that's on not we feel being put in a box by a lot of THOU SHALT NOT-rules, but that we keep them out of love and know that they are there for our benefit? *

endtime 10.08.08 - 12:35pm
Yes, that is how we serve the Lord, out of love for Him hearts.GIF *

seastarr 19.08.08 - 05:02pm
Let's discuss sanctification. What does it mean to your daily walk with God? *

joe.sa 20.08.08 - 10:31am
Good question. I hear people saying that the more time we spend time with God, the more we become like Him. Thus we become sanctified. *

seastarr 20.08.08 - 05:56pm
The word sanctify means to set apart. We are set apart by our position in Gods family. 1 Cor. 6:11. His is callled positional sanctification and is true of every believer regardless of his spiritual condition. Now to clarify this read Heb. 10:10. That this positional sanctification is based on the death of Christ is clear. *

seastarr 20.08.08 - 06:03pm
Because we have been set apart there is also an aspect of sanctification that causes us to be increasingly set apart in our daily lives 1 Peter 1:16. This aspect is concerning our spiritual growth and is an ongoing process throughout our lives. blossom.GIF *

joe.sa 21.08.08 - 11:07am
Ok, but it doesn't mean that we don't interact with the world, right? *

seastarr 24.08.08 - 08:42am
No it is talking about our spiritual interaction with God. blossom.GIF *

1mpume 1.11.08 - 07:07pm
Hi joe the most important command is found in Matthew22 vs 37to 39. *

joe.sa 2.11.08 - 08:32am
Hi Mpume, Yes youre right. Interestingly enough theres also a great commission. I think the two must be mixed. *
