From Matthew
28:16-20.

Standing but a step from His Heavenly Throne, Jesus Christ gave to commission; Mark16:15
And He said the them, ''Go into all the world and preach the Gospel to every living creature.''
Again and again the words were repeated, that the disciples might grasp their significance. Upon all inhabitants of the earth was the light of Heaven to shine in clear, strong rays. The commission had been given to the twelve in the upper chamber, but it was now to be given to a larger number. At the meeting on the mountain of Galilee, all the believers who could be called together were as*embled. The angel at the tomb reminded the disciples of Christ's promise to meet them in Galilee. The promise was repeated to the believers at Jerusalem during the Passover week, and through them *

it reached many who where mourning the death of their Lord. With intense interest all looked forward to the interview. From every direction, with wondering hearts they came. At the time appointed, about five hundred believers collected in little knots on the mountainside, eager to learn all that could be learned from those who had seen Christ after His resurrection. From group to group the disciples passed, telling all they had seen and heard of Jesus Christ, and reasoning from the Scripture as He had done with them.
Suddenly Jesus stood among them.
No one could tell whence or how He had came. Many had never before seen Him, but in His hands and feet they beheld the marks of the crucifixion;
and when they
saw Him, they worshiped Him.

This was the only interview Christ had with many of the believers after His resurrection. His words, falling from lips that had been closed in death, thrilled them. Now Christ declared that ALL POWER was given to Him. The minds of the hearers were lifted to the highest conception of His Dignity and Glory.
Christ's words were the announcement that His sacrifice in behalf of mankind was full and complete. The work for which He came to this world had been accomplished.
He was on His way to the Throne of God.
He had entered upon His mediatoral work. Clothed with boundless authority, He have His commission;
Matt.28:19,20
''Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. *

20. ''teaching them to observe all thing that I have commanded you, and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of age.'' Amen.
Jesus Christ commissioned His disciples to proclaim a faith that would have in it nothing of caste or country, a faith adapted to all peoples, nations, and classes of the human race.
Christ plainly stated the nature of His Kingdom. His purpose was to establish a Spiritual Kingdom, not to reign as an earthly King of David's throne. He revealed to them the things concerning His rejection as Messiah had come to pass. He revealed to them in regard to the humiliation He should endure and the death He should die had all been verified. On the third day He rose from death and in all these things the specifications of prophecy had been fulfilled. *

Jesus Christ had commissioned His disciples to do the work He left in their hands, beginning at Jerusalem which had been the scene of His amazing condescension for the human race. Few had discerned how near Heaven came the Earth while Christ was among them. At Jerusalem the work of the disciples must begin. The disciples might have pleaded for a more promising field, but they made no such plea. Christ had scattered the seed of truth, and the seed would yield an abundant harvest. The first offers of mercy must be made to the people of God, Israel! Many in Jerusalem had secretly believed on Jesus Christ, and many had been deceived by the priests and rulers. They were called to repentance. While all Jerusalem was stirred by the thrilling events of the part few weeks, the spreading of the Gospel would make the deepest impression. *

But the work was not to stop here. It was to be extended to earth's remotest bounds. To His Disciples, Christ said, *Although Israel has rejected Me as the Scripture foretold, they shall have another opportunity to accept the Son of God. To you, My disciples, I commit this message of mercy. It is to be given to Israel first, then to all nations, tongues, and peoples. All who believe are to be gathered into one Church.
The Holy Spirit makes their work effective.
Through the Holy Spirit, the disciples' testimony was to be confirmed by signs and wonders. Miracles were to be wrought not only by the Apostles, but by those who receive their message; Mark16:17, 18
''And these signs will follow those who believe; In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues; *

18.''they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.''
At that time unscrupulous men did not hesitate to remove by poisoning those who stood in the way of their ambitions.
Jesus knew that many would think it doing God service to put His witnesses to death. He therefore promised them protection from this danger.
A new endowment was promised; the disciples would preach among the nations, and they would receive power to speak in other tongues. These Apostles and their associates were unlettered men, yet through the outpouring of the Spirit @Pentecost, their speech, whether in their own or a foreign language, became pure and accurate, both in word and accent. *

Thus Christ gave His disciples full provision for the prosecution of the work, and took on Himself the responsibility for its success.
Go... to all the nations, He bade them. *Go to the farthest part of the habital globe, but know that My presence is with thee.
Labor in Faith and Confidence.
The Saviour's commission includes all believers to the end of time. It is fatal to suppose that the work of saving souls depends on the ordained ministers alone. For this work the Church was established, and all who take its vows are pledged to be
co-workers with Christ. Whatever ones calling in life, his first interest should be to win souls for Christ. He may not be able to speak to congregations, but he can work for individuals. Nigh and afar off are souls weighed down by guilt. *

gbopp 17.06.08 - 04:55am
It is not hardship or poverty that degrades humanity. It is guilt, wrongdoing. Jesus Christ would have His friends minister to sin-sick souls.
Where can we begin.
Everyone is to begin where he is. In our families may be souls starving for the bread of Life. If performed with faith, the work will be felt to the uttermost parts of the earth.
The humblest worker, moved by the Holy Spirit, will touch invisible chords, whose vibrations will ring to the ends of the earth, and make melody through eternal ages.
The gifts of the Spirit are promised to ever believer according to his need for the Lord's work.
The promise is just as trustworthy now as in the first days of the Apostles. *

Christ came to heal the sick, to proclaim deliverance to the captives of satan.
Christ imparted His life to the sick and those possessed by demons.
Christ knew that those who petitioned Him for help had brought disease on themselves, yet He did not refuse to heal them. And many were healed of their Spiritual disease as well as their physical maladies. The Gospel still possesses the same power.
Jesus Christ feels the woes of every sufferer. When fever is burning up the life current, He feels the agony. He is just as willing to heal now as when He was personally on earth.
He desires through His friends to exercise His Power. *

gbopp 18.06.08 - 01:42am
In the Saviour's manner of healing there were lessons for His disciples. The cure could be wrought only by the power of the Great Healer, but Christ made use of simple and natural remedies. He taught that disease is the result of violating God's law, both natural and spiritual. The great misery in the world would not exist if men lived in harmony with the Creator's plan. He taught that health is the reward of obedience to the laws of God. The Great Physician had spoken to His people from a pillar of cloud. Exodus15:26.
and said, ''If you diligently heed the voice of the Lord your God and do what is right in His sight, give ear to His commandments and keep all His statutes, I will put none of the diseases on you which I have brought on the Egyptians. For I am the Lord who heals you.'' *

gbopp 18.06.08 - 02:06am
For the sick we should use remedies God has provided in nature and point them to Him who alone can restore. We should teach them to believe in the Great Healer, to take hold upon His strength. Only by partaking of Christ's love through faith can the life-giving energy flow from us to the people. There were places where the Saviour Himself could not do many might works because of their unbelief. So now unbelief can separate the Church from her Divine Helper. By lack of faith God is disappointed and robbed of His Glory. Where there is no active love for others, love wanes and faith grows dim. Angels marvel at man's shallow appreciation of the love of God. The sufferings of every man are the sufferings of God's children. Those who reach out no helping hand to their perishing fellow beings provoke His righteous anger. *

gbopp 18.06.08 - 12:30pm
Christ gave His Disciples their message; teach the people, He said, ''to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you.''
That which He had spoken, not only in person but through all the Bible is here included. There is no place for tradition, man's theories, or laws ordained by ecclesiastical authority.
''The Law and the Prophets,'' with the record of His own words and deeds, are the treasure to be given to the world. *

gbopp 19.06.08 - 04:34am
The Gospel is to be presented, not as a lifeless theory, but as a force to change the life. Those whose course has been most offensive to Him He freely accepts. When they repent, He imparts to them His Divine Spirit and sends them into the camp of the disloyal to proclaim His boundless mercy. Through His Grace men may possess a christlike character and rejoice in His Great Love. Christ does not merely announce these Blessings; He presents them in a way to excite and desire to possess them.
So to are His workers to present the Riches and Glory of the Fruits of the Spirit to all mankind. *

agape777 20.06.08 - 12:53pm
While Christ's ministry was firstly to Israel, proclamation of and adherence to His Lordship is extended to all the nations through the
Spirit-Empowered ministry of His Church. Disciples are to acknowledge openly their allegiance to Christ by the seal of water baptism, which is ministered under the authority of the entire Godhead. *
